Student scholarships to be increased as of 1 September
Student scholarships will increase starting 1 September. Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun made the statement today.
The official mentioned that all undergraduate students will benefit from the increases, but they will be higher for young people studying STEAM disciplines and for those enrolled in Education Sciences.
Dan Perciun emphasized that the increases are part of the authorities’ efforts to boost the attractiveness of studies in higher education institutions in our country.
“Scholarships will increase for all students. Starting September 1, 2026, we will have substantial increases aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of studies in the Republic of Moldova. We aim to raise scholarships, especially at the bachelor’s level, for students who pursue their studies in the Republic of Moldova. These increases will particularly benefit those studying STEAM subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, architecture, engineering—it’s a long list—and additionally those studying Education Sciences, especially in STEAM-related subjects,” said Dan Perciun.
The minister underlined that the size of the increases varies, with an average of 40 percent. “The size of the increases varies. For those in Education Sciences and STEAM disciplines, it is higher, but on average we can speak of a figure of 40 percent,” the head of the Education Ministry stressed.
Dan Perciun said that the project is currently in the approval stage and will be submitted to the Government for endorsement in the near future.
