Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii has had a meeting with his Slovak counterpart, Robert Kaliňák, during an official visit to Bratislava. At the talks, the sides examined opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation through new projects and initiatives in the fields of technology, defence industry, training and military education.
The officials also discussed the country’s European integration path and regional security. Other topics focused on current challenges and the efforts undertaken to strengthen national resilience to hybrid threats.
The officials referred to sectoral strategic goals, the actions taken to consolidate defence capabilities and the support provided to public authorities in managing crisis situations, including with the backing of external partners.
Anatolie Nosatii thanked the Slovak government for its assistance to Moldova in reducing pollution on the Dniester River and facilitating cross-border electricity flows.
The Moldovan defence minister also praised Slovakia’s contribution to the participation of National Army servicemen in the European Union mission in Somalia, noting that Slovakia is one of the countries that had supported Moldova in this regard through the Trust Fund.
Minister Anatolie Nosatii on March 26 paid an official visit to Bratislava, as part of Moldova’s delegation headed by President Maia Sandu. In the Slovak capital, the official took part, together with the head of state, in meetings with President Peter Pellegrini and Parliament Speaker Richard Raši, as well as in the Moldovan-Slovak Business Forum organized on the occasion of the visit.
