Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University of Moldova launches new master’s programme, Health Promotion and Protection

The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) is launching a new master’s degree programme titled, Health Promotion and Protection, with a duration of two years, full-time. Its mission is to train competitive specialists for the labor market, who will provide health promotion, prevention and health education services, conduct scientific research and pursue continuous professional development throughout their lives.

Graduates of the Nicolae Testemitanu USMF, as well as graduates of institutions specializing in educational sciences, social work and sports may apply for the new study programme, based on a bachelor’s degree (Cycle I) or an equivalent higher education qualification. The language of instruction will be Romanian.

The goals of the new programme are: deepening fundamental concepts in health promotion and protection; developing communication skills; organizing, presenting and delivering conferences and discussions focused on health education promotion; analyzing and assessing the health status of the population and developing preventive measures; interpreting scientific data and carrying out research and development activities in the field.

The programme trains specialists for the public sector and also provides the necessary competencies to become independent consultants, entrepreneurs or leaders in innovative health initiatives.

Graduates of the programme can work at the National Public Health Agency, public medical and sanitary institutions, kindergartens, schools, colleges, vocational schools, sports centers, industrial enterprises, local communities, state institutions and non-profit organizations.

They can also work at international organizations, such as the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Red Cross, as well as in NGOs.
