Moldova's Border Police receive six special vehicles on behalf of FRONTEX
The Border Police of Moldova has strengthened its field response capabilities with six Land Rover Defender special vehicles deployed in the country by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX).
The vehicles will be used in missions carried out along the state border and will help enhance team mobility, expand surveillance capabilities and enable rapid intervention in areas of responsibility.
The new special vehicles complement the FRONTEX equipment already deployed in Moldova. This includes 10 Ford Ranger Raptors, five Jeep Compass Overlands and four Ford Rangers equipped with night surveillance systems.
The cooperation between the Border Police and FRONTEX is carried out under the Agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the Agency’s operational activities on the territory of Moldova.
According to the Border Police, strengthening technical and mobility capabilities will allow teams to act more effectively in the field, respond more quickly to operational situations and contribute to the safety of people crossing the state border.
