Competition for position of Teleradio-Moldova company's director general postponed; Intelligence and Security Service asks for additional vetting of candidates
The competition to select the director general of the Teleradio-Moldova public company (TRM) has been postponed. The Supervisory and Development Council of TRM ruled to reschedule the interview stage, at a request by Director of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), Alexandru Musteata, who invoked the need for additional vetting of the candidates.
According to the Supervisory and Development Council of TRM, the interview stage was supposed to take place in the upcoming period, but it was postponed following the SIS leadership’s request to carry out additional checks. The new date for the interviews will be announced later.
Four candidates remain in the race for the position of director general of the Teleradio-Moldova public company, after the completion of the first stage of the competition. The Council admitted to the interview stage the candidates Dorin Scobioala, Ecaterina Cheptanaru, Sergiu Sandulescu and Andrei Zapsa.
The competition for the position of TRM director general was launched, after Vlad Turcanu had submitted his resignation on May 18, 2026, following a scandal over the jury points awarded at Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
