Moldovan soldiers to march in France’s National Day parade
The color guard unit of the Honor Guard Company of the National Army will take part on 14 July in the military parade organized in Paris on National Day of the French Republic.
According to the Ministry of Defense, soldiers from the Republic of Moldova will march on the Champs-Élysées boulevard alongside units of the French Armed Forces and representatives of other partner states, in the presence of French authorities and official guests.
The formation of the National Army will be led by Major Vitalie Josan, and the state flag of the Republic of Moldova will be carried by Sergeant Second Class Sergiu Ceburciu.
This will be the second participation of Moldovan soldiers in the military parade organized on the occasion of France’s National Day.
The National Day of the French Republic is celebrated annually on 14 July and marks the fall of the Bastille in 1789, an event considered the symbol of the beginning of the French Revolution. The military parade on the Champs-Élysées boulevard is one of the most important military ceremonies in Europe and brings together, in addition to French service members, contingents and delegations from invited partner states.
