Director of Raisa Pacalo Center of Excellence in Medicine and Pharmacy dismissed
Director of Raisa Pacalo Center of Excellence in Medicine and Pharmacy has been dismissed. Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco made the statement today.
The decision on the dismissal of the head of the education center came after the anti-corruption officers conducted searches at the center in a case involving a public funds embezzlement scheme.
"Instead of diligently working to shape future medical staff through training based on competence, ethical attitude, and altruism towards suffering patients, they cripple young souls by teaching models of systemic corruption. I have dismissed the institution's director. Prosecutors request the suspension of the suspected individuals from their positions, and I will demand their resignations. They have no moral right to enter classrooms and speak about moral values," wrote Nemerenco.
Late last week, officers from the National Anti-Corruption Center and prosecutors conducted 45 searches in a case involving a public funds embezzlement scheme by decision-makers and employees of Raisa Pacalo Center of Excellence in Medicine and Pharmacy. Four individuals, including the institution's director, the chief accountant, a human resources specialist, and a department head were detained, and another five individuals have suspect status.
The decision-makers within the institution are being investigated for fictitiously hiring individuals in various positions who do not actually perform any work. Additionally, as a result of special investigative measures, evidence has been revealed regarding the collection of money from students, rigging public procurements, favoring certain economic agents, and using the institution's resources for the benefit of third parties.
