Drone illegally flew over airspace of Moldova
A drone, preliminarily identified as a Shahed-136 (Geran-2), entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova this morning, being monitored by the surveillance systems of the National Army.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the unauthorized flight was detected at 03:16. The drone illegally crossed the state border from the direction of Ukraine, in the area of Cotlovina, Reni region, and moved towards the village of Etulia, Gagauzia.
The object left the airspace of the Republic of Moldova at 03:22, moving from the direction of Etulia village back towards Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the overflight occurred in the context of the air attacks carried out during the night of August 19 to 20 by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
