President urges children to share stories about books read this summer; most avid readers invited to Presidency
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu is encouraging children to talk about the books they have read this summer. She is inviting the most passionate readers to a meeting at the Presidency, which will take place at the beginning of September, to discuss the stories that accompanied them during this vacation.
The head of state emphasized that every story we read is a journey of the imagination into the world of books.
“Do you still remember the challenge I gave you at the start of the summer? I urged you to put your phones and tablets aside from time to time, to open a book and embark on a journey of imagination. Summer is coming to an end and I am very curious to find out where books have taken you over these past months,” said Maia Sandu.
She is urging children to share their impressions of the books they have read and to tell her about the characters and stories that impressed them the most.
“What did you read? Which character did you like the most? Which story made you laugh, dream, or discover something new? I am waiting for you to write to me at citeste@prm.md. Tell me what your name is, how old you are and where you are from, how many books you have read this summer and, most importantly, what impressed you the most. I look forward to your messages. Then, at the beginning of September, we will meet at the Presidency with the most avid readers and talk about the books and stories that have accompanied us during this vacation,” Maia Sandu remarked.
At the beginning of the summer, the head of state launched a challenge for children, urging them to read more and to share their impressions of the books they discovered.
