MOLDOVA IS ME // Dreams born from courage. Story of Anastasia Dumbrava, student at Ștefan cel Mare Academy
There are dreams that are born from courage, grow through sacrifice and take shape through tireless work. They are the example of young people who choose a more difficult path, one in which every day means discipline, responsibility and the promise to serve the people. For Anastasia Dumbrava, a fourth-year Law student at Ștefan cel Mare Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the uniform is not just a symbol of authority, but a commitment to law, honor and truth.
Behind her calm smile and determined gaze lies the story of a young woman who understood from her teenage years that her destiny was not an ordinary one. She chose a path full of sacrifices, nights of study, demanding training sessions and difficult exams, yet each step brought her closer to her dream of becoming a law professional.
“I have always wanted to do more than just have an ordinary job. I wanted to feel that my work matters to people, that I can contribute to their safety and that every decision I make is guided by law and justice. This is the reason why I chose the ‘Ștefan cel Mare’ Academy,” Anastasia recounts.
A choice made out of vocation
The decision to study at the academy was not a random one. In the last year of high school, when many of her classmates were still searching for their path, Anastasia already knew she wanted a profession that would test her character and her ability to make decisions in the most difficult situations.
She never imagined a life spent between the four walls of an office. The young woman chose the dynamism, responsibility and challenges of a profession in which every day can bring a new lesson.
“I never saw myself in a monotonous routine. I chose this profession because here every day challenges you to be better, more prepared and more responsible. Honor and integrity are not just fine words, but values that you must prove through every deed,” the young woman states.
Family – support that gave her courageBehind every success there are people who believe in you even when the road seems difficult. For Anastasia, her family was the force that encouraged her to follow her calling.
Although her parents initially looked with concern at her choice of such a complex and demanding field, they quickly understood that their daughter had found her true vocation.
“My family were the ones who gave me the confidence I needed. There were natural fears, but they never asked me to give up my dream. Their unconditional support gave me the strength to move forward and believe in my own abilities,” says Anastasia.
Academy that shapes characterFour years of study have meant much more than acquiring legal knowledge. The Academy has shaped her character, built discipline and cultivated responsibility.
The rigorous schedule, physical training, tactical exercises and numerous hours devoted to study have transformed her into a young woman ready to act with clarity even in the most tense moments.
“The Academy taught me that discipline does not mean constraint, but respect for the profession and for the people you will help. I became stronger, more organized, and I learned that true resilience is built through work and perseverance,” she notes.
One of her greatest challenges was adapting to the fast pace of academic life. The strict schedule and large volume of information required a lot of patience and determination. Yet every obstacle overcome became further proof that she had made the right choice.
The uniform – more than a symbolFor many people, the uniform is just an official outfit, but for Anastasia it represents a promise. The promise that the law will be applied responsibly, that people will be treated with respect and that honor will always remain above any personal interest.
“Every time I put on the uniform I feel that I carry on my shoulders the responsibility of an entire institution. It reminds me that every gesture and every decision must inspire trust. The uniform does not only give you authority; it obliges you to be an example,” the young woman emphasized with a firm voice.
Her years of study were also marked by strong friendships. Behind the difficult exams and demanding training sessions there were hours spent together in the library, long evenings in the barracks and moments when the support of colleagues made the difference.
“At the academy, team spirit is not just a value taught in class, but a reality lived every day. Taking the military oath, tactical exercises and preparations for exams are memories that I will always carry in my heart,” Anastasia mentions.
During her studies, the professors played an essential role in her professional development. The Criminal Law course taught by Alexandru Zosim was one of those that had a profound impact on her. Real-life cases, practical examples and the passion with which they were explained helped her understand the impact a legal professional can have on people’s lives.
Firmness and empathy in the professionAlthough the profession requires firmness, Anastasia is convinced that it cannot exist without empathy. She believes that respecting the law and respecting people must always go hand in hand.
“Firmness and empathy do not exclude each other. The law must be applied objectively, but behind every case there are people, destinies and suffering. The strength of a professional is to be firm with the violation of the law, yet remain human in dealing with people,” she adds.
After graduation, Anastasia wants to work in the field of forensic expertise, where she can make use of her attention to detail and analytical spirit. Her goal is to demonstrate professionalism, continue her studies and become a respected specialist, able to contribute to strengthening the administration of justice.
The message she sends to young people who dream of a career within the Ministry of Internal Affairs is sincere and full of confidence.
“If you feel that this profession is your calling, do not give up your dream because of difficulties. Prepare yourself, work hard and be patient with yourself. The Academy changes you not only as a future professional, but also as a person, and this transformation is worth every effort,” the young woman concludes.
The story of Anastasia Dumbrava shows that success is not measured only in academic results, but also in the values a young person cultivates every day. Ambition, discipline, respect for the law and love for people are the landmarks that shape her path.
When, after graduation, she steps into the ranks of those who safeguard respect for the law, the young woman will carry with her not only the knowledge acquired at the academy, but also the belief that the true power of the uniform lies in the honor of the person who wears it.
