VIDEO // Citizens urged to check personal social insurance account

Citizens are encouraged to check their personal social insurance account to monitor whether employers correctly declare and pay state social insurance contributions. The National Social Insurance House (CNAS) emphasizes that this information is essential for determining entitlement to social benefits such as pensions, temporary incapacity for work benefits, or allowances for families with children.

The institution notes that every year over 840,000 people pay state social insurance contributions on a monthly basis. However, in 2025 only about 160,000 people accessed their personal social insurance account, which means that only one in five contributors checks their data.

Angela Rezan, Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Individual Record of Contributions within CNAS, stressed that checking the data in the personal social insurance account is an essential tool for every insured person, providing transparency and the possibility to monitor the data recorded in the personal account.

“It is very important that the data in the personal account be checked in order to prevent risks. As the years go by, it becomes more difficult to recover the information that needs to be entered into the personal social insurance account, in case the employer has not fulfilled the obligation to calculate and declare mandatory state social insurance contributions,” said Angela Rezan.

By accessing their personal account, insured citizens can therefore check whether employers have correctly declared the period of activity and have paid social insurance contributions.

“Additionally, the information in the personal account allows an estimate of the insurance period completed. If discrepancies or errors are found in the account data, insured persons can request their timely correction by the employer, thus avoiding future problems when social benefits are established. Likewise, the personal account is updated monthly, providing relevant information about the history of contributions and the social benefits received. Regular access to the data in the personal social insurance account is both a right and a responsibility of every insured person,” added Angela Rezan.

She explained to citizens how the data in the personal social insurance account can be accessed.

“CNAS offers insured persons the possibility to view, electronically, the data from their personal social insurance account through the ACCES CPAS Information System or the government citizen portal. Thus, insured persons who hold an electronic or mobile signature can access the data in their personal account via the MPass service, without having to go to a territorial CNAS office to receive an access password,” noted Angela Rezan.

For insured persons who do not have an electronic or mobile signature, access to the data in the personal account through the ACCES CPAS Information System takes place on the basis of the login and access password issued by the Territorial Social Insurance House or by CNAS. A video explaining these procedures is available on the CNAS social media channels.
