Moldova's State University to mark 75th anniversary of foundation on 1 October

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan State University (USM) will mark the 75th anniversary of its foundation on 1 October. The event will be celebrated through organizing more activities, due to be carried out during 24 September – 11 November.

The string of activities will be inaugurated with the launch of an anniversary website dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the institution’s foundation. The page will contain information on the history, rectors, Doctors Honoris Causa, successful alumni of USM.

On 24-25 September, the USM Faculty of Letters, in cooperation with the Yuriy Fedkovych National University from Chernivtsi, Ukraine and the Stefan cel Mare University from Suceava, Romania, will organize an International Discussion of Sciences of Language, Eugeniu Coseriu.

Also, students of the Letters Faculty will discuss present tendencies in the higher education from Moldova with the alumni of this faculty, head of the parliament’s commission for culture, education, youth, sport and mass media, Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei and the secretary of this commission, Marcela Adam.

A solemn meeting dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Moldovan State University’s Foundation will take place on 1 October.
