New rules for travel to UK: Electronic Travel Authorization becomes mandatory from April 2025
Starting April 2, 2025, Moldovan citizens who wish to travel to the United Kingdom will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before entering the country. This new electronic authorization system will replace physical visas and will be applicable to all individuals who previously could enter the United Kingdom without a visa.
To obtain the ETA, interested parties must access the official platform http://www.gov.uk/electronic-travel-authorisation.
British authorities recommend checking the new travel requirements in advance and obtaining the authorization before departure to avoid potential issues upon entering the country.
This measure is part of a broader effort by the United Kingdom to enhance border security and digitize the immigration control process.
