Attacks in Ukraine felt in Moldova: authorities announce airspace not violated
Loud bangs and bright lights were observed on the evening of March 23 in the south of the Republic of Moldova, near the locality of Copceac, as a result of airstrikes carried out on the territory of Ukraine. The Border Police report that so far no risks to citizens’ security have been identified.
According to the Border Police, the phenomena were generated by actions carried out across the border; however, no risks to citizens’ security have been identified.
“On the territory of the Republic of Moldova, some loud bangs were heard and bright lights were seen in the sky, phenomena generated by actions carried out across the border,” representatives of the institution specified.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova also announced that the national airspace had not been violated.
The authorities continue to monitor the situation and maintain contact with international partners in order to ensure border security and the safety of citizens.
