
Several police officers investigated by SPIA after allegedly bribing
Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/- SPIA officers of the Ministry of Interior together with prosecutors collected facts about the alleged illegal actions of passive corruption committed by sector officers within Botanica Police Inspectorate. They allegedly demanded 17 thousand lei from a man in order not to be sanctioned for an alleged case of aggression.
According to SPIA, within the special investigation measures, the first installment worth 4,000 lei was sent under authorized control. In the second installment worth 625 euros, an officer was caught red-handed.
If found guilty, law enforcers face up to 5 to 10 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold any positions for 7 - 10 years.
