
USA donated equipment worth 163 thousand dollars to IGSU
Chisinau, March 14. /MOLDPRES/- The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations received today a batch of intervention equipment from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Moldova and the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration of the U.S. Department of State.
The deputy head of the Inspectorate, Alexandr Tatarov, and the coordinator in the emergency situations of the International Organization for Migration, Margo Cara Baars participated in the ceremony of handing over the humanitarian batch at the headquarters of the IGSU.
The deputy head of IGSU thanked the international partners for their support. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of equipping the Inspectorate's subdivisions with high-performance equipment, which will enhance the response capabilities of rescuers and firefighters in crisis situations.
The batch worth over 163 thousand dollars includes air heaters, generators, containers (toilets, bathrooms), linings for tents and an excavator, which are to be distributed to IGSU subdivisions to strengthen the capacity in managing the flow of refugees.
