
Vasile Coroi appointed as People's Advocate for Child's Rights
Chisinau, July 14. /MOLDPRES/- Vasile Coroi was appointed as People's Advocate for Child's Rights. Parliament passed a draft decision with the vote of 53 MPs today.
At the interview stage of the competition organized by the special commission for selecting candidates for the position of People's Advocate for Child's Rights, Vasile Coroi and Tamara Tentiuc obtained the highest score, thus passing the interview test. Following the voting procedure, Vasile Coroi's candidacy was supported by the majority of deputies.
In total, five people were admitted to the interview stage.
Vasile Coroi has served in the child's rights for several years. According to the data in the CV, he leads a center in the field.
Under the legislation, the People's Advocate for Child's Rights is appointed by the vote of the majority for a seven-year term, which cannot be renewed.
The competition for the selection of candidates for the position was launched after the mandate of Maia Bănărescu expired.
