Authorities have discovered and seized 200 ballots stamped with VOTED for a political bloc participating in the 28 September parliamentary elections. The ballots were intended to be used in a 'carousel' scheme on election day.
According to the General Inspectorate of Police, law enforcement bodies conducted checks on a print shop in the capital based on information received from the State Tax Service.
'The ballots were printed in accordance with a contract and were intended for the respective political bloc. Officers have further established that the ballots were to be used in the election day by instituting a 'carousel' type scheme, a method known for inserting such a ballot into the box and enabling the extraction of a clean one, which would then be stamped, continuing the rotation,' IGP said.
Law enforcement bodies have notified the Central Electoral Commission to investigate the case.
