Police announce the documentation of a new form of illegal electoral financing and corruption, managed from the Russian Federation via TAITO app.
According to the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP), individuals are promised tens of thousands lei monthly for participating in illegal activities, money they ultimately do not receive.
In this context, the authorities urge citizens not to access this application and to refrain from sharing personal data.
Mid last week, President Maia Sandu convened a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, where measures to combat information manipulation and foreign interference in electoral processes were discussed. Among the instruments outlined by the authorities are electoral corruption and illicit external funding.
