From 5 September Moldovans no longer require visas to travel to UAE
Starting 5 September 2025, citizens of the Republic of Moldova will be able to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) without needing a visa. The announcement was made during an official meeting in Abu Dhabi between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Mihai Popșoi and his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit of the Moldovan diplomatic head to Abu Dhabi takes place in a symbolic context - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the United Arab Emirates.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed deepening bilateral cooperation, focusing on attracting investments and intensifying collaboration in areas such as trade, agriculture, infrastructure and information technologies.
Mihai Popșoi thanked the Emirati authorities for supporting the visa liberalization process and emphasized the importance of this measure for Moldovan citizens, especially in the context of promoting mobility and tourism.
Officials also expressed mutual interest in launching a direct airline route between Chișinău and the United Arab Emirates, which would facilitate travel and economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Both Mihai Popșoi and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan reiterated their commitment to developing sustainable and extensive cooperation for the benefit of citizens of both countries.
