Good news for tourists. United Arab Emirates removes visas for Moldovans
Citizens of the Republic of Moldova will be able to travel visa-free to the United Arab Emirates for a period of up to 90 days within a 180-day span. Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi made the statement during a visit to Abu Dhabi, where he signed, along with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan a Memorandum of Understanding on the mutual abolition of the visa regime.
“The signing of this Memorandum reflects the shared commitment of the Republic of Moldova and the United Arab Emirates to facilitate free movement of citizens and strengthen bilateral cooperation,” said Popșoi.
The agreement aims to strengthen friendship relations and boost economic development, tourism and cultural cooperation between Moldova and the United Arab Emirates.
Popșoi paid a visit to Abu Dhabi on 4 August at the invitation of his counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion agenda included strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations, expanding trade exchanges, attracting investments, cooperation in strategic areas, as well as regional and international topics of interest.
Popșoi met with representatives of the airline Air Arabia, one of the most important low-cost operators in the region, in the context of potential expansions of air connectivity between the two countries.
The visit took place in the context of this year's 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the United Arab Emirates.
