Culture Ministry makes clarifications on benefits provided by Creative Europe Programme to artists from Moldova

The agreement on Moldova's accession to the Creative Europe Programme will provide, as of January 1, 2026, access for cultural organizations and artists to European networks of collaboration, mobility and artistic funding. The document will be signed by European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sports Glenn Micallef and Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan on September 2, 2025.

Through this programme, beneficiaries from Moldova will be able to participate in European projects in the fields of cinema, visual arts, music, literature, heritage, digital creative industries and the media sector. At the same time, the accession will facilitate the exchange of experience among professionals and the development of international partnerships.

‘’The signing pf the Agreement on Accession to Creative Europe is an investment in the future of our creators and a confirmation of cultural rapprochement with the European Union,’’ said Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, after the meeting with the European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sports Glenn Micallef.

The Creative Europe Programme provides funding and support for the European cultural sector, from theater and television to music and video games. The programme is set to be expanded in the next EU multiannual budget, over a seven-year period.
During the discussions, officials also reviewed major reforms implemented in recent years in the culture sector of Moldova, such as the creation of the National Culture Fund, salary increases for artistic staff and the restoration of dozens of institutions through the European Village programme.
