Moldova's Foreign Affairs Ministry, Culture Ministry sign Cultural Diplomacy Concept of Moldova
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture today signed a Joint Order approving the Cultural Diplomacy Concept of Moldova. The document aims to strengthen the country's image on the international stage, by promoting national cultural values, identity and heritage.
The document was signed by Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mihai Mitu and State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Andrei Chistol.
The main goals of the Concept are: promoting a positive and reliable image of Moldova on the international stage; capitalizing on tangible and intangible cultural heritage globally; stimulating the mobility of artists and international cultural cooperation; expanding networks of bilateral and multilateral partnerships; actively involving the Diaspora in cultural diplomacy initiatives.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mihai Mitu said that the signing of this Concept marked a decisive step in strengthening the cultural diplomacy of Moldova.
“Through this instrument, we will be able to project a modern, European and open image in the world, favoring intercultural dialogue and sustainable cooperation,” said Mihai Mitu.
The Concept’s implementation will be ensured through close collaboration between cultural institutions, diplomatic missions, the academic environment, the Diaspora and international partners. The efficiency of the measures will be evaluated annually, based on the impact and visibility of Moldovan culture on the international stage.
