Moldova-Film Studio celebrates 70th anniversary
Chisinau, April 17 / MOLDPRES /- Moldova-Film Studio celebrated 70th anniversary today.
In the autumn of 1940, a cinematographic correspondence point was organized in Chisinau, which periodically produced cinematographic magazines, dealing with the dubbing of artistic films in Romanian. The technical base of the service was first in Kyiv (1940 - 1947), then in Odessa (1948 - 1952). During this period, a special branch of the studio was formed with a state of specialists in the field (directors, operators, illuminators, etc.), which aimed to produce films and cinematographic magazines exclusively for the Republic of Moldova.
The steps taken by the government of the republic towards the higher courts finally led to the issuance in April 1952 by the Moscow Ministry of Cinematography of the order "On the establishment in Chisinau of the documentary film and film chronicle studio", which was reorganized in 1957 in the Studio of Art and Chronicle Films Moldova-Film.
The Moldova-Film studio became known all over the world, thanks in large part to the filmmakers of the '60s, graduates of the VGIK and the advanced courses of screenwriters and directors in Moscow: Emil Loteanu, Valeriu Gagiu, Nicolae Ghibu, Vlad Ioviță, Gheorghe Vodă, Vasile Vasilache, Vlad Ciurea, Pavel Bălan, Ion Bolboceanu, Vasile Covrig, Filimon Hămuraru and others
Currently, within an EU-funded project, the Moldova-Film Studio is digitizing the films that are kept in the institution's funds.
