Moldovan fine artist inaugurates personal water colour exhibition
Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ – A personal watercolour exhibition of painter, graphic designer and book illustrator Ion Moraru was opened today at the Exhibition Centre Constantin Brancusi in Chisinau.
Interviewed by agency, Ion Moraru has mentioned that exhibition includes 80 works, over 30 of which he painted in the United States of America, where he worked for years. "In general, I have done over 1,000 works. The technique of watercolour gives me freedom and ability to create, reproduce by colour what I feel. I came back home and my urge is for those ones left to return to their home. They say it is hard here. But how can it be easy if many of us leave? Each of us has accumulated a certain experience abroad and must try to apply it here, where our roots are," said Ion Moraru.
Plastic artist Eleonora Romanescu stated that Ion Moraru is an artist model for the younger generation of painters. "He strives to raise a picture – based study. He spoke his word in painting and in the United States at a high professional level," said Eleonora Romanescu.
At her turn, Tamara Moraru, wife of artist, said that she came to Chisinau with the idea of becoming a theatre director, but fate made him a plastic art manager. "We are glad to have returned home. The works of my husband emanate a lot of positive energy. Ion carries a lot of light and spiritual warmth. I thank God for giving me opportunity to be wife of an artist and a plastic artist mother. Our son, Adrian, who works in the US with great success, is our greatest work," said Tamara Moraru.
There took floor: State Secretary for Culture, Andrei Chistol, head of the Union of Fine Artists, Dumitru Bolboceanu, University Professor Alexei Colbneac, art critic Tudor Stavila, painter Ion Macovei, writer Constantin Dragomir, etc.
Ion Moraru was born on 22 April 1950 in Dangeni village, Ocnita district. In 1977 he graduated from College of Fine Arts A. Plamadeala in Chisinau and in 1985 – Polygraphic Institute in Moscow.
