Moldovan Central Electoral Commission unveils preliminary results of repeat voting in central Moldovan commune

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has unveiled the preliminary results of the repeat voting of the runoff election of the new local polls for the mayoral position in the Bolduresti commune, central Nisporeni district.

The election was held with the participation of one candidate. According to preliminary data, 610 voters voted for Serghei Bulicanu, an independent candidate.

Under the electoral legislation, the candidate for the mayoral position will be considered elected, if he/she gets at least half of the votes from the voters who participated in the elections.

CEC warns that, until the voting results are received from the hierarchically lower electoral bodies, the information regarding the voting results has a preliminary character.

The repeat voting of the runoff election of the new local polls for the mayoral position took placeIn Bolduresti commune, Nisporeni district, on July 20.

According to CEC’s data, in the election, a total of 691 voters or 23.84% exercised their right to vote.

Under the provisions of the electoral legislation, in the case of repeat voting, the election is declared valid regardless of the number of voters who participated.
