Chisinau residents to pay less for heating
Residents of the capital will pay 2,020 lei per gigacalorie, which is 490 lei lower than the current one. The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) approved the new heating tariff today.
The tariff proposed by ANRE is lower than the one requested by the supplier, whose calculations indicated 2,180 lei per gigacalorie.
The decrease in heating tariff comes after the price of natural gas delivered to consumers has fallen. According to the decision approved by ANRE on February 3, the tariff fell by 2.15 lei per cubic meter, to 13.35 lei, without VAT, compared to the previous price of 15.50 lei. After the decision was approved, ANRE sent a letter to all license holders asking them to submit applications to adjust the regulated prices for the supply of thermal energy.
The last adjustment of the thermal energy tariff paid by the capital's residents was made by ANRE at the beginning of last year, when the thermal energy supplied by Termoelectrica became more expensive. As of today, Chisinau residents have paid 2,510 lei per gigacalorie (without VAT).
On the other hand, residents in the north of the country, served by CET-Nord will pay a higher tariff for heating. ANRE’s calculations show that it could increase by 75 lei per gigacalorie, reaching 2,201 lei compared to the current 2,126 lei. The tariff proposed by ANRE is lower than the one requested by the supplier, which asked for an increase of 233 lei per gigacalorie.
The decision will enter into force upon its publication in the Official Journal.
