Companies from several countries gathered in Chișinău for Business Forum Made in Moldova – Internationally Competitive

Representatives of the business community, public institutions and business support organizations from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland and Israel gathered today in Chișinău for the Business Forum Made in Moldova – Internationally Competitive – a major event dedicated to promoting the competitiveness of the national economy and international cooperation. Participants have the opportunity to analyze strategic priorities for economic development in the region, as well as opportunities to launch new partnerships in the field of investment and exports, in a regional and European context.

The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI), in partnership with the Investment Agency, on the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) platform, within the CONNECT Moldova–EU project, co-financed by the European Union.

CCI President Sergiu Harea stated at the opening of the event that the Business Forum provides a concrete framework for bilateral meetings and discussions, networking and exchange of experience, being focused on practical results and long-term partnerships. He urged the entrepreneurs present at the event to fully capitalize on the opportunities of this forum, to initiate contacts and to launch long-lasting partnerships. Sergiu Harea assured that the CCI will continue to be an active and reliable partner for the business environment, supporting companies in the process of modernization, internationalization and European integration.

“In recent years we have clearly seen that trade flows and economic relations between the Republic of Moldova and its strategic partners are constantly increasing. Today the Republic of Moldova has a growing economy, with real development potential. In the first 11 months of 2025, our country’s GDP increased by 2.7%, which shows that the investments we have made over the past few years are beginning to be successful,” said Sergiu Harea.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitization Eugeniu Osmochescu welcomed the organization of the Forum in Chișinău and the participation of a significant number of companies from different countries, noting that such events and bilateral relations between entrepreneurs are essential for the country’s economic development.

“We support economic development, clear, transparent and predictable rules, and the protection of the business environment in the Republic of Moldova. The European path is an ambitious one and can be achieved only by implementing coordination practices with all those who have already followed this road. The business community is the driving force behind the growth of any economy. I hope that the discussions within today’s event will lead to the launch of several investment projects that will contribute to the growth of the Republic of Moldova and to the reconstruction of Ukraine in the near future,” the official said.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova Paun Rohovei said that the Business Forum Made in Moldova – Internationally Competitive is not only an economic event, but also a symbol of the shared determination to build a future based on partnership, trust and mutual support.

“Such events create an atmosphere of unity, opening up new opportunities to inspire us to take joint steps towards a prosperous, free and democratic future. Ukraine and Moldova are united not only by a common border, but also by a rich history, mutual support, cultural ties and a shared aspiration for economic progress. We are neighbors, partners and friends who have always found the strength to overcome difficulties together. Today, as the world undergoes profound transformations, economic cooperation can become the strongest foundation to ensure the stability and prosperity of our countries,” the Ambassador emphasized.

Representative of the Lithuanian Embassy in Chișinău Liudas Dabkus stressed that the presence of delegations from several countries at the Business Forum shows the shared commitment to promoting economic cooperation and stimulating trade and investment.

First Collaborator of the Romanian Embassy in Chișinău Ovidiu Viorel-Năftănăilă said that the Forum coincides with a peak moment in the bilateral relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

“Romania is one of the most active trade partners of the Republic of Moldova and we have positive signs that this year the volume of bilateral trade between the two banks of the Prut will exceed 4 billion dollars,” the official underlined.

The event was also attended by Iași mayor Mihai Chirica. “Congratulations, Moldova! You have grown and continue to grow more every year and you show that even a small country can become a dialogue partner for large countries if it implements reforms and manages to remain consistent. You are on an economic growth path thanks to the work of every citizen of this state,” said Chirica.

The Business Forum offers a relevant framework for presenting the investment climate of the Republic of Moldova and the instruments available to investors; digital solutions for accelerating local businesses, with an emphasis on innovation and access to markets; concrete cooperation opportunities, through the presentation of chamber delegations and the business environment from the participating countries; the launch of trade and investment partnerships.

A central element of the event will be the B2B meetings, during which Moldovan companies will have the opportunity to talk directly with business delegations from Romania, Ukraine and Lithuania, to initiate commercial contacts and to explore new directions of collaboration in various economic sectors such as agriculture, industry, trade, services, digitization, etc. Companies and authorities from the counties of Iași, Vaslui, Neamț, Botoșani and Maramureș are participating.

The Business Forum Made in Moldova – Internationally Competitive is organized within the National Exhibition Made in Moldova, which was inaugurated on 11 February at Moldexpo. It brings together over 400 domestic companies that present to visitors the most diverse and highest quality products manufactured in our country. The exhibition is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), under the patronage of the Government, and will be open until 15 February.
