Customs authorizations go digital

The Customs Service will launch, starting July 1, Customs Decisions Information System. The new digital platform allows the requesting, examination, and issuance of customs authorizations and decisions entirely in electronic format, eliminating the need to submit paper documents and to travel to service counters.

Irina Rîbac, Head of the Information Security Section within the Customs Service, stated that through the Customs Decisions Information System, 18 types of customs authorizations and decisions are managed, covering the main customs regimes, simplifications, and facilities provided by customs legislation.

“The system enables the management of the entire life cycle of authorizations, from the submission and examination of the application to the issuance, modification, suspension, revocation, and subsequent monitoring, in a fully digitalized process. Thus, economic operators benefit from a simpler, faster, and more transparent process. Applications can be submitted online, supporting documents are transmitted electronically, and applicants can track the status of their request in real time, receive notifications during the examination process, and access the history of issued authorizations, all within a single system,” said Irina Rîbac.

The implementation of the Customs Decisions Information System reduces time and administrative costs for the business community, optimizes the internal processes of the customs administration, and strengthens the transparency of the decision-making process.

“The system represents an important step in the process of harmonizing the customs legislation and procedures of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union acquis and in fulfilling the commitments undertaken in the EU accession process, by developing modern, efficient, and fully digitalized public services,” added Irina Rîbac.

It can be accessed via the trade.gov.md platform, under the E-Customs section.
