Customs Service collected over 625 million lei last week
Chisinau, Nov. 7 /MOLDPRES/- On 31 October -6 November the Customs Service collected over 625 million lei (about 31.1 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the Customs Service, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 16.6 million lei were collected, which represents 2.7% of the total amount.
At the same time, 10,616 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 73,250 crossings.
In terms of the fight against fraud, 87 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 252 thousand lei were applied. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Since the beginning of the year, the Customs Service has collected about 28 billion lei to the state budget, up by 19.5% compared to the same period last year.
