Annual savings of around 265 million lei for entrepreneurs through debureaucratization measures

The debureaucratization measures for the business environment, adopted by the authorities at the end of last year will generate estimated annual savings of about 265 million lei, with visible effects starting in 2026. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugeniu Osmochescu made the statement today.

The official pointed out that the deregulation package adopted in December 2025 targeted 12 sectors and more than 200 economic activities, eliminating or revising over one hundred authorizations. The estimated impact for the business environment is annual savings of about 265–267 million lei, with visible effects starting in 2026.

“Due to the blockages that existed previously, because permits were not issued in a timely manner, an entrepreneur could have the business blocked and incur losses. The impact on the business environment from the initiative that was approved in December 2025 and taking effect from 1 January 2026 concerns savings of 264 million lei annually for the private sector, money that can be reinvested,” stated Osmochescu.

Previously, Osmochescu told an interview for MOLDPRES that the year 2026 will mark a new stage in simplifying the relationship between the state and the business environment. The official emphasized that the authorities’ objective is for all procedures related to starting a business, reporting, taxes, accounting, authorization or customs to be carried out entirely online, and trips to the counter becoming exceptions.
