Gas consumption fell by 37 percent in March

Gas consumption decreased by 37.2 percent in March compared to February, totaling 93.4 million cubic meters. At the same time, last month, compared to the same period in 2024, the consumption was lower by 7.9 percent.

According to Moldovagaz data, by 31 March 2025, household consumers paid 93.6% of the billed amounts for 2025. In the case of non-household consumers (legal entities), the share of transfers was 97.7%. The energy and thermal companies in the country paid the invoices in full.

Overall, the payment level for natural gas consumption for the volume supplied by 31 March 2025 stands at 96.8%, or 0.4 percentage points less compared to 2024, amounting to 3.980 billion lei.

During the period, 808 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network due to debts exceeding 4 million lei.
