Moldovan leu to depreciate against euro, dollar
Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/ – The national currency depreciates on 27 September against USD and EUR. The single European currency will have an official price of MDL 19,80 and the dollar – MDL 16,85.
Thus, EUR will be priced with MDL 0,01, and USD – with MDL 0,03.
According to the BNM's data, the Moldovan leu will keep its value in relation to the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH), Romanian leu (RON) and Russian rouble (RUB). The latter will have a price of MDL 0,25, and RON will be quoted, as on 26 September, at MDL 04,24. UAH will remain at the cost of MDL 0,59.
The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) announced on 25 September that MDL would be accepted for the first time for foreign exchange and banking transactions in Romania.
