National Vine and Wine Office awarded in London and Bucharest for effective promotion strategies
The wine industry of the Republic of Moldova records a new success on the international stage. The National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV) has been awarded two significant prizes, confirming the strategic evolution of the sector and the effectiveness of the promotion campaigns carried out under the national brand Wine of Moldova. Unexpectedly Great.
In 2025, the industry's communication and marketing efforts were globally recognized with two prestigious awards.
"This refers to the London City Nation Place – Highly Commended, Best Communication Strategy: Economic Development category. The award appreciates how the Republic of Moldova organized, promoted, and communicated the 46th World Congress of Vine and Wine, considered the most important international scientific event dedicated to the sector. The second - Romanian PR Award – Diploma of Excellence, Events & Experimental Marketing category. The award was for the Moldovan Wine Festival in Bucharest, a project that has significantly contributed to increasing the visibility of Moldovan wine in the regional market and promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova as a quality wine producer. Materials were submitted for evaluation by Seven Media Communication Partner Ltd", explains ONVV.
Both projects were developed and implemented by ONVV with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, under the country's brand dedicated to promoting Moldovan wine.
"These achievements consolidate the position of the Republic of Moldova in the global wine industry, demonstrating that investments in marketing, communication, and brand identity can generate impact and recognition on an international level. At the same time, the awards confirm the strategic direction of the viticulture sector, oriented towards sustainable development, expansion of export markets, and harnessing the national wine heritage", estimates the Ministry of Agriculture.
The National Vine and Wine Office ensures that it will continue implementing international promotion programs and campaigns to maintain the visibility of Moldovan wines and develop new opportunities for producers in the coming year.
Moldovan wine increasingly confirms its status as an ambassador of the country abroad. If the National Wine Day remains an occasion for celebration domestically, producers' participation in international exhibitions and fairs truly opens doors to the world, through which Moldova showcases its viticultural potential.
At the beginning of this year, wineries from the Republic of Moldova were present in Paris and Düsseldorf, where thousands of producers and experts from around the world gather. Stands united under the brand "Wine of Moldova. A legend alive" attracted attention through the diversity of assortments and recognized quality of the wines. Tastings, masterclasses, and meetings with importers confirmed that Moldova is not just a participant in such events anymore, but an increasingly visible player in the global market.
The economic results speak for themselves. In the last year, Moldovan wine exports have increased by almost a fifth in volume and by a quarter in value. In total, over 120 million liters of wine products reached foreign markets, bringing the national economy about 190 million dollars. Romania remains the main export destination, followed by Poland and the Czech Republic, but increasingly distant markets like the United States, Japan or China are gaining ground.
