Over 400 domestic companies participate in Made in Moldova Exhibition
Over 400 domestic companies are participating in the 23rd edition of Made in Moldova Exhibition, which was inaugurated today at Moldexpo. Here, residents and guests of the capital will be able to find a wide variety of high-quality products manufactured in our country. The exhibition is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), under the patronage of the Government, and will be open until February 15.
The event brings together domestic entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy. In the main pavilion of Moldexpo, agro-industrial products, foodstuffs and beverages are displayed, including stands of district councils. In pavilion no. 2, companies from the industrial, textile, furniture and consumer goods sectors are showcasing their products. At the same time, in the outdoor spaces of Moldexpo, agro-food products, artisanal wines, as well as companies from the wood and metal processing sectors are presented.
CCI head Sergiu Harea said at the opening of the exhibition that the event presents the highest-quality products manufactured in our country, its purpose being to support and promote domestic producers.“The exhibition is an opportunity to bring together companies from our country, as well as from abroad, to initiate possible cooperation and attract new investments,” said Sergiu Harea.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitization Eugeniu Osmochescu noted that the driving force behind a state’s development is the private sector and the people behind business development. The official delivered a special message to all citizens, urging them to consume domestic products.
“The hall is full, which shows us the development of the private sector and of producers in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the alignment of our country’s producers with European standards. My appeal is: Let’s produce in the Republic of Moldova, consume in the Republic of Moldova and buy more products from the Republic of Moldova. The driving force behind a state’s development is the private sector and the citizens who stand behind business development. We, the authorities, contribute by creating the conditions for development,” the official said.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga pointed out that Made in Moldova Exhibition is becoming a tradition and reconfirmed the authorities’ support for domestic producers.
“I thank domestic producers and ask them not to lose the courage and ambition they have in these challenging times marked by various crises. You will always have my firm support, and everything we do will be aimed at gaining, together with producers, consumer confidence in product quality. We must be united, buy at home and consume at home. We stand by domestic producers continuously and consistently in order to reach the performance targets set,” the minister noted.
EU Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Iwona Piórko was also present at the event. She praised the high quality of domestic products and emphasized the role of domestic producers in the development of the economy. Currently, about 68 percent of Moldova’s exports go to the EU market, which is also the largest investor in our country.
At this year’s edition, unlike in previous years, there are two invited countries – strategic trade partners of the Republic of Moldova: Romania and Ukraine.“Made in Moldova is an exhibition where producers can shake hands in a more informal setting, and it is an opportunity to meet friends and establish new cooperation agreements,” said Gabriel Valer Zetea, President of Maramureș County Council.
At the same time, Paul Butnariu, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and President of the Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that products manufactured in the Republic of Moldova are highly appreciated by consumers across the Prut.
“We are here with a large delegation, which demonstrates our desire to do business with entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova and to purchase high-quality goods,” the official said.
The organizers estimate that this year’s event will be visited by at least 60,000 people. In addition, for the first time, the exhibition will be connected to the global Enterprise Europe Network platform, enabling the organization of international B2B meetings and access to partners from over 60 countries, thus facilitating the expansion of Moldovan companies into foreign markets.
As part of the exhibition, a business forum will also be held, with the participation of about 400 companies from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Latvia, Ukraine and Serbia. It will take place at the Palace of the Republic on 12 February and will also include bilateral meetings.
Made in Moldova is the largest exhibition of domestic products held in the territory of the Republic of Moldova and is also the event that launches each year’s exhibition program in our country. It is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. At the 22 previous editions of the exhibition, more than 6,100 domestic companies have participated, and the events have been visited by over 1.2 million people.
