Under the programs Europe is Near and European Court, infrastructure modernization works have commenced. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) Vladimir Bolea visited the first localities where works are in full swing.
Hârtopul Mare village, Criuleni district is the first beneficiary of Europe is Near Program, where local road rehabilitation works started recently. In the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, the first layer of asphalt was applied on two streets, and the project also includes the repair of a third street. In total, 890 meters of road will be modernized, allowing over 2,800 residents to travel more comfortably and safely to the gymnasium, kindergarten, post office, and other public institutions. The completion of the works is scheduled for the end of August.
The first project under European Court Program recently began in the city of Cricova. For now, work is being done on rehabilitating the inner courtyards of residential blocks within the perimeter of Nicolae Milescu Spătarul and Tineretului streets.
The project includes the establishment of a new playground for children, asphalting 6,500 square meters of driveways in the inner courtyards, and installing 3,600 linear meters of curbs. Additionally, 100 flower planters will be installed to contribute to the area’s greenery and aesthetics, and 80 benches will be placed in rest and relaxation areas. The project also includes installing 50 trash bins for cleanliness maintenance, arranging two parking spaces, and creating 50 parking spots.
The programs are two initiatives launched by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, with European funding to improve local infrastructure. Europe is Near program is aimed at repairing and constructing roads and sidewalks in rural areas, while European Court program focuses on modernizing apartment block courtyards in Chișinău and its suburbs.
