On International Youth Day, President Maia Sandu met with nearly 100 participants of DOR camp - diaspora children and young people, coming from 16 countries. The official encouraged them to be 'ambassadors of the country and to maintain ties with the homeland of their parents and grandparents'.

The head of state mentioned that the young people rediscovered Moldova as it is: full of traditions, beautiful places and people with great souls.

'Today, on International Youth Day, I met with nearly 100 participants of DOR camp - diaspora children and young people, coming from 16 countries, who, over 10 days, rediscovered Moldova as it is: full of traditions, beautiful places and people with great souls. I encouraged them to use their energy and creativity to make Moldova known to the world, to be ambassadors of the country, and to maintain ties with the homeland of their parents and grandparents. Dear young people from the diaspora, Moldova always welcomes you with open arms!' remarked Maia Sandu.

The Republic of Moldova marks International Youth Day today. According to data from the National Statistics Bureau, in 2024, the number of young people, aged between 14-34, was 544 thousand or 22.8% of the total population with usual residence.
