New development projects included in Single Program Document for 2025-2027
New development projects have been included in the Single Program Document /SPD/ for 2025-2027, which was amended today by the Government. The implementation of the initiatives outlined in the document will contribute to improving the quality of life for over 1.1 million residents in the villages and cities of the Republic of Moldova and the sustainable development of over 600 localities.
“The amendment of the SPD aims to update annex number 1 by adding five regional development projects in the field of tourist attractiveness and annex number 2 by adding 447 local development projects submitted within the local roads modernization program Europe is Near. This is in addition to the 132 projects already included in the SPD, so that all 579 eligible initiatives under the program can be implemented. By realizing these investments, 39.48 km of district-municipal interest roads, 388.55 km of local interest roads, and over 128 km of access roads and pedestrian platforms to public institutions will be built, repaired, or rehabilitated,” said Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
The total value of the projects submitted for inclusion in the SPD is over 2 billion lei, of which over 1.8 billion lei are granted by the Government, over 192 million lei is the contribution of the municipalities, and 62 million lei are allocated by the Ministry of Culture for tourism projects.
“We go through the villages in the Republic of Moldova and together with the municipalities, local councils, and citizens, we assess the four years of Government investments in our localities, and I want to say that all projects implemented by the Executive reflect the real needs of the people, whether we are talking about aqueducts, school repairs, or the project ‘Europe is Near’, all are extremely anticipated by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and fully reflect the needs of the people,” stated Vladimir Bolea.
The official mentioned that the implementation of the project will contribute to improving the quality of life for over 1.1 million residents in the villages and cities of the Republic of Moldova and the sustainable development of over 600 localities.
“The updated single program document includes a total of 156 regional development projects and 1,477 local development projects, which reflects a broad effort by the Government of the Republic of Moldova to support the country's localities, regardless of size or geographical location,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean mentioned that the funds allocated to the development of our country's localities have consistently increased in recent years, and this will continue as our country gains access to pre-accession funds. Thus, the authorities must coordinate their efforts and prepare for the assimilation of these funds.
“We must continue to better coordinate activities between central administration and local public administration, as well as associations. Why? Because we are gradually, though not exponentially, but significantly increasing the funds going into local development. With pre-accession funds, there will be even more financial resources specifically for development in our localities. But for that, we must be prepared. And you know very well that President Sandu’s initiative, ‘European Village’, aimed not only at allocating more money to local public administration but also at the preparation process for rapid assimilation of pre-accession funds,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The Single Program Document is a medium-term planning document for the implementation of the national regional development strategy and represents the synthesis document of the regional operational programs, including the list of priority regional and local development projects, selected based on competitions organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
