Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has organized a ceremony on the awarding of prizes to the winners of the contest for the best house wine, Golden Tun, on the second day of the National Wine Day.
This year, more than 450 house wines from over 20 districts of Moldova competed for the Golden Tun 2022 prize, of which 127 wines reached the republican stage of the contest. The prizes were awarded at various categories – wine of technical varieties, white wine, red wine, liqueur wines, etc.
„This year, we received a pretty large number of samples of house wines from all regions of Moldova. We are happy that this tradition does not disappear; moreover, householders manage to surprise us with qualitative and competitive wines. And because the good wines represent a value of Moldova,’’ CCI president Sergiu Harea said.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Vladimir Bolea said that this was a contest for good managers, who represent an incontestable value for the branch and for the country.
The Golden Tun contest has been organized since 2002, in order to highlight the best producers of house wine, promote the consumption culture and carry out the exchange of good practices as regards the vine-growing and wine-making activity. During those 20 earlier editions of the contest, about 9,500 samples of wine were presented, of which 200 became winners and are presently on shelves of shops from Moldova.
More than 100,000 visitors participate in the National Wine Day on 7-8 October. With the slogan, Our Wine Conquers the World, the 22nd edition of the 2023 year marks one decade of progress of the Wine of Moldova.
The National Wine Day is organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine, Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry, with the support of the strategic partner United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Moldova, through the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity Project.
