Republic of Moldova promotes organic products at world’s leading trade fair for organic food, BIOFACH 2026
The Republic of Moldova is once again taking part this year in the international trade fair BIOFACH, traditionally held in February in Nuremberg, Germany, considered the most important global event dedicated to certified organic products.
At the 2026 edition, the Republic of Moldova is represented by six companies specialized in organic production, which are showcasing a diverse range of certified products such as walnut kernels, walnut oil and walnut powder, organic wines and sparkling wines, organic teas and lavender products, organic flours, organic grains and vegetable oils and organic dried plums.
The products come from certified organic farming and emphasize controlled origin, premium quality and modern processing – essential elements for gaining access to Western markets.
“The presence of our country at this major professional platform confirms the steady development of the organic agricultural sector and the increasingly clear orientation of domestic producers towards export, especially to the European Union market. Participation is considered an indicator of the maturation of the organic industry in the Republic of Moldova, where more and more companies are investing in certification, traceability and value-added products adapted to international standards,” explains the Employers’ Association “Value Chain Alliance in Organic Agriculture of Moldova” (MOVCA).
Participation in BIOFACH offers Moldovan producers the opportunity to conduct direct trade negotiations with importers, distributors and specialized retail chains, as well as to identify new sales markets. At the same time, the companies strengthen their visibility and credibility in the organic products segment, one of the most dynamic in the global food industry.
BIOFACH is recognized as the most important international platform for the organic sector. The exhibition brings together annually over 2,500 exhibitors from around 90 countries and attracts more than 35,000 professional visitors – producers, distributors, retailers, importers and industry experts.
The event includes an extensive program of conferences and thematic debates on global trends in organic agriculture, sustainability, agricultural policies and the development of responsible value chains.
The participation of the Republic of Moldova in BIOFACH 2026 is carried out with the support of the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova and the Ukraine–Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF), institutions that support the promotion of Moldovan products on international markets and facilitate companies’ access to export opportunities.
The constant presence of the Republic of Moldova at the exhibition shows that the organic agricultural sector is becoming an increasingly important pillar of the national economy, and Moldovan organic products are gradually consolidating their position on the European market, where demand for sustainable and certified food continues to grow.
