Termoelectrica submitted request to ANRE to adjust heat energy tariff
Consumers could end up paying less for heat energy. Termoelectrica today submitted a request to the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to adjust the tariff, after the natural gas price decreased.
According to Termoelectrica, the tariff change is directly influenced by the drop of the regulated price for the supply of natural gas, a factor that impacts the costs of producing electricity and heat.
The request to adjust the tariffs, which reflects by how much heat energy prices could decrease, has not yet been published by ANRE.
On February 3, ANRE decided to reduce the tariffs paid by consumers for natural gas. Thus, the tariff decreased by 2.15 lei per cubic meter, to 13. 35 lei, excluding VAT, compared to the previous 15.50 lei.
After the decision was approved, ANRE director Constantin Borosan stated that the drop of natural gas tariffs could lead to lower prices for heat energy. The official emphasized that ANRE sent a letter to all license holders, asking them to submit requests to adjust the regulated prices for the supply of heat energy.
The last adjustment of the heat energy tariff paid by the residents of the capital was made by ANRE at the beginning of this year, when the heat energy supplied by Termoelectrica became more expensive. Currently, Chisinau residents pay 2,510 lei for one gigacalorie (excluding VAT).
