Railway of Moldova state enterprises announces full settlement of obligations accumulated to 1,000 employees with government's aid of 50 million lei
The Railway of Moldova state enterprise (CFM) today announced that it had fully honored its obligations accumulated to about 1,000 employees who were laid off upon reaching retirement age and those who terminated employment on their own initiative. This was made possible thanks to a 50-million-lei-assistance allocated by the government.
At the same time, CFM said that, in the last two months (June-July), the company's employees had received three salaries for the months of November-December 2024 and January 2025.
According to CFM, the company has recorded positive developments in the financial sector due to cost optimization, cutting of financial losses and optimization of the work.
‘’As an example, while in January 2025, 42.5 million lei was needed to supplement the salary fund, for last June, 29 million lei is enough; the savings amount to 13.5 million lei in this respect alone,’’ CFM noted.
Also, the range and volume of transported cargoes have been expanded, CFM emphasizes, noting that this is due to flexibility in logistics planning, acceptable tariffs for contractors and rational use of rolling stock. As a result, in June 2025, the company's revenues amounted to about 57 million lei, compared to 27 million lei in the beginning of this year, CFM also said.
