
Foreign Ministry confirms: Belarusian diplomat declared persona non grata and set to leave Moldova
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova announced that a staff member of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Chișinău has been declared persona non grata and is set to leave the country according to international diplomatic procedures.
According to ministry spokesperson Tatiana Barac, the official is expected to leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova within the timeframe stipulated by diplomatic procedure.
The ministry has not provided additional details regarding the reasons that led to the decision.
Recently, a former deputy director of the Intelligence and Security Service was detained in Romania for espionage in favor of the Republic of Belarus.
