Volume of natural gas delivered to consumers increases in Moldova in last January
The volume of natural gas delivered to consumers increased in January 2026 and amounted to 179 million cubic meters, by almost 45 million cubic meters more than in December 2025, when consumption was about 135.3 million cubic meters, MOLDPRES reports with reference to data published by Energocom company.
The volume of gas delivered in January 2026 is also higher than the one recorded in January 2025, when 135.5 million m³ were consumed.
According to Energocom, the increase in the delivered volume is triggered by cold weather, with the average temperature in January 2026 being -5°C, compared to -0.6°C in December 2025.
To ensure that invoices show actual consumption as accurately as possible, the supplier has urged citizens to enter the updated meter reading every month when paying their invoice or to allow access for authorized personnel during the data collection period. In the absence of this information, distribution operators send Energocom estimated data, which are then used to issue invoices.
Consumers who have questions regarding contracts, tariffs, invoices or payments can call the phone number 1304.
Since September 1, 2025, Energocom has taken over the role of supplier with public service obligations and delivers natural gas to more than 800,000 consumers. The company is also responsible for invoicing consumption for household and non-household customers at regulated tariffs. At the same time, distribution activities, meter reading and data collection continue to be ensured by the distribution operators.
