Working group for restoration of Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic set up in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - Economics and Infrastructure Minister  Sergiu Railean has instructed the setting up of a working group for identifying technical solutions of restoration of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, hit by the 24 September fire. The first meeting of the group‘s specialists took place on the spot today.   

„The working group members are to consider the impact of the fire on the technical state and assess the technical indicators of quality, resistance and stability of the building’s load-bearing elements. Following the works, decision-makers will elaborate technical proposals and conclusions, in order to ensure its functionality and possibility of its use in continuation,’’ according to a press release by the Economics Ministry (MEI).   

According to the communiqué, will 12 October, the working group will present a report on the analysis of the situation and actions due to be undertaken as to the building of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic.

Also, at a request by the working group, the Education, Culture and Research Ministry will present the project technical documentation, results of the earlier technical expertises and will ensure the access to the building hit by the fire.

On 24 September, a fire burned up more than 3,500 square metres from the building of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic. The fire destroyed the building almost completely; both concerts halls were devastated and more musical instruments were burnt, some of which unique ones.
