Germany to support Moldova in managing flow of refugees
Chisinau, March 5 / MOLDPRES /- The support measures that Germany could provide to the Republic of Moldova in the context of the war in Ukraine and the flow of refugees were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and State Parliamentary Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development Niels Annen, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Gavrilița spoke about the actions taken by the Executive for the humanitarian assistance of refugees, but also about the existing needs in this context, mentioning that the number of people coming from the neighboring country is constantly growing, given that our state's resources are limited. She stressed that in addition to providing people with short-term needs, the Moldovan authorities are counting on the support of Germany in increasing funding to reduce economic and social effects.
"We have the largest number of refugees in the history of the Republic of Moldova, but we do our best to manage the situation, including thanks to the support of our partners. In the context of this crisis, it is important to continue the efforts to increase the incomes of the citizens and to support the economic agents ", Gavrilița said.
For his part, Niels Annen said that the visit of the German delegation to Chisinau aims to identify solutions to the problems caused by the large number of refugees in Ukraine. "We come from Palanca, where we have seen an impressive cooperation between border guards, customs officers and volunteers. The dedication of these people is admirable, and the coordination effort of the Government is an example for many of us, "said Niels Annen.
