Investments in infrastructure modernization discussed with representatives of French business community
Opportunities for France’s involvement in supporting transport infrastructure projects, particularly the development of the railway sector and urban transport were discussed by President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu with a delegation of French business leaders. The delegation is in Chișinău as part of Moldova–France Business Mission, organized by the Investment Agency in cooperation with Business France, Moldovan-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the diplomatic missions of both countries.
“For the Republic of Moldova, it is important that the very good political relationship with France translates into economic cooperation with concrete results. We appreciate the confidence that French investors have in our country. We are working intensively on accession to the European Union, and this process makes us even more attractive for investment,” the President said.
According to the Prime Minister, Moldovan–French cooperation is essential for implementing projects that can bring efficient and sustainable solutions for citizens and contribute to economic development. These include projects to modernize infrastructure and adapt cities to current mobility needs.
Delegation representatives noted that urban mobility projects can be implemented within a few years, provided there is efficient planning and clear coordination, and that French companies have the necessary expertise to design and implement modern urban transport systems.
The discussions also covered opportunities for collaboration in the analysis and preparation stages of such initiatives, including through financing instruments and knowledge transfer.
