Authorities to examine solutions for transport operators at meeting of Commission for Emergency Situations

Authorities will examine the requests of transport operators in the context of rising fuel prices during a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations, according to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea.

According to the official, at this stage there are no separate requests from transport operators, and fare setting is carried out on the basis of existing regulations. He noted that the National Road Transport Agency is responsible for preparing the calculations, which include factors such as the price of diesel fuel and other components.

“ANTA is working on this draft amendment, but at this stage we are talking about a force majeure situation in the context of rising prices for petroleum products,” Bolea stated.

The minister noted that a state of alert has been declared in the energy sector in the Republic of Moldova, and solutions for the transport sector will be presented after the CSE meeting.
