Over 3,000 tons of fuel imported in Moldova on Tuesday

Almost 2,600 tons of diesel and 558 tons of gasoline were imported on Tuesday, March 17, into the Republic of Moldova through the Giurgiulești International Free Port and by land transport. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu stated at today's cabinet meeting that the situation in the energy sector is stable.

“The situation is stable; prices are rising but still remain the lowest in the region,” said Munteanu.

According to data from the Ministry of Energy, fuel stocks currently cover 9 days of consumption in the case of diesel, 13 days of consumption for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and 16 days of consumption for gasoline.

The authorities have urged car owners to use petroleum products rationally and to avoid purchases that are not strictly necessary.

The Government declared an energy alert on March 4 for a period of 60 days, in connection with the external situation. According to the authorities, this is a preventive measure aimed at protecting domestic consumption and maintaining the stability of the energy system.
