
Moldovan government to organise more actions on State Flag Day
Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - Upon Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici’s initiative, the government will mark the 25th anniversary of the tricolour as State Flag by a string of actions. In this respect, Gaburici signed an instruction by which the action plan dedicated to this national holiday, due all over Moldova, was approved, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
On 27 April, Chiril Gaburici, together with cabinet members, will participate in actions dedicated to the State Flag Day, due at the Defence Ministry.
Subsequently, Gaburici will participate in the parliament’s solemn meeting titled „The 25th anniversary of tricolor”. President Nicolae Timofti, ministers, diplomats, MPs of the first parliament, representatives of the central public authorities, as well as the author of the state coat of arms and national currency, Gheorghe Vrabie will attend the event.
The presidential orchestra will perform a Show-defile on the Great National Assembly Square, whereas military orchestras will perform in the public gardens. The state flag will be hoisted on the buildings of all public institutions.
Festivities, by raising the Moldovan flag, will also take place in the military units of the National Army. Educative actions about the tricolour’s history and various exhibitions will also be carried out.
Lessons, contests, performances dedicated to the national symbols will be organised till the end of April and book exhibitions will be staged in libraries. The national TV channel will broadcast programmes dedicated to the Flag Day, promos about the most representative Moldovan culture, history and architecture monuments.
The first parliament designated the tricolour as Moldova’s official flag on 27 April 1990. The State Flag Day was established on 23 April 2010.
